And here I thought Conan having two phones was weird… Yet, here I am, with two phones -.- Long story short, American and European network use a different technology. Which is in fact not a problem anymore. At all. Because modern phones are designed to work with both networks. Modern as in not 5 year old phones :/
But the dumbass that I am loves small phones, so my phone is too old to work on both networks (had it been made 3 month later, we wouldn’t have that problem) - meaning I had to get a new one. The new one isn’t a dual sim phone, but I need a European and American sim cards for reasons (aka the government and data). So, yeah, two phones O.O
So in fact, Conan having two phones is not surprising since he supposedly comes from the US. He could pretend one is the one he has for Japan (more convenient), and the other is for the US (when it’s in fact his phone as Shinichi). Since Shinichi’s plan is basically to have him go “back to the US” when he gets his body back, his Japanese plan is temporary and having two phones is too.
Now, the suspicious part is the fact that he has the same phone. The exact same one :/ Pretending Shinichi got his phone not long before being turn into Conan, he could have bought the same, sure. But why would he do that??? I mean, there are a couple of reasons, but still it would have been better to have a different model. I mean, obviously a dual-sim is out of the question (need to keep the texts and calls separated), but at least don’t buy the exact same model!
